Choose Your Browser
(Recommended) The easiest method is to install the official You.com Chrome extension: You.com | Multi-engine Search
But, if you would prefer to set you.com as your default without a chrome extension, you can make the simple change manually:
- Go to chrome://settings/searchEngines, switch your default search engine to Google, then remove You.com from the search engines list
Go to [You.com](<https://you.com>),
If necessary, log in
Type anything in the address bar and go to the search results page
Go to search engine settings: chrome://settings/searchEngines, you should see an entry for [You.com](<https://you.com>) towards the bottom of the page
On that entry, click on “…” ****to the right, and click on “**Make default**”
After that, if you need to switch back to Google as a search engine for some queries, you can start typing “google.com” in the address bar, followed by your query.
You can also add a custom version with this URL: https://you.com/search?q=%s
Firefox on Desktop
Safari on Desktop
Safari on iPhone or iPad
Unfortunately, Safari doesn’t let you properly change your default to You.com through the Safari settings.
Be sure to drag the You.com Browser to your home bar right after you download it.
We do not currently support the Opera browser, but you can follow these instructions to make it your default. Go to “Settings -> Basic -> Search engine.” In the Search Engine section, click the “Manage search engines” link.
Click the Add button under “Other search engines.”
The Chrome extension doesn’t work for some users on Vivaldi, but you can set up a new search engine easily following the instructions here: https://help.vivaldi.com/desktop/tools/search/#new
For the URL, use: https://you.com/search?q=%s
Brave on Desktop
Brave on Mobile Devices
In the bottom right, click on “…” to open this drop down menu:
Click on Settings to get to this screen and there click on “Search Engines”
On that screen, click on Add Custom Search Engine:
Add this text to it:
