Make You.com Your Default Search Engine
Choose Your Browser
Google Chrome
(Recommended) The easiest method is to install the official You.com Chrome extension: You.com | Default
Install the Chrome Extension here.
But, if you would prefer to set you.com as your default without a chrome extension, you can make the simple change manually:

- Go to chrome://settings/searchEngines, switch your default search engine to Google, then remove You.com from the search engines list
- Go to You.com
- If necessary, log in
- Type anything in the address bar and go to the search results page
- Go to search engine settings: chrome://settings/searchEngines, you should see an entry for [You.com](<https://you.com>) towards the bottom of the page
- On that entry, click on “…” ****to the right, and click on “**Make default**”
- After that, if you need to switch back to Google as a search engine for some queries, you can start typing “google.com” in the address bar, followed by your query.
You can also add a custom version with this URL: https://you.com/search?q=%s
Firefox on Desktop

Microsoft Edge
(Recommended) The easiest method is to install the official Microsoft Edge You.com Extension: You.com Default Search

iOS
The easiest way to make you.com your default on iOS is to download our browser app with you.com as the default search engine.
Android
The easiest way to make you.com your default on Android is to download our browser app with you.com as the default search engine.
Safari on Desktop
You are able to set You.com as the Safari default search by installing this Safari extension.
Safari on iPhone or iPad
Unfortunately, Safari doesn’t let you properly change your default to You.com through the Safari settings.
You are able download the official You.com Search and Browser here.
Be sure to drag the You.com Browser to your home bar right after you download it.
Opera
We do not currently support the Opera browser, but you can follow these instructions to make it your default. Go to “Settings -> Basic -> Search engine.” In the Search Engine section, click the “Manage search engines” link.
Click the Add button under “Other search engines.”
You can enter You.com as name and “you” as keyword and the URL where Opera is going to send your search queries you can use: https://you.com/search?q=%s
Vivaldi
The Chrome extension doesn’t work for some users on Vivaldi, but you can set up a new search engine easily following the instructions here: https://help.vivaldi.com/desktop/tools/search/#new

Brave
Similar to Chrome, Brave is also built on Chromium, so you can install this Chrome extension: You.com | Multi-engine Switch on Brave to set You.com as your default search engine.
